It seems as if I have not been able to be as active as I wanted on this blog. Of course, it is about what is new at KenSpangler.com so if I haven't done anything new then there won't be anything to write about.
Recently, I've been focusing on getting ready for my visit to North Carolina. I've been having to work some overtime to get some extra money for the visit and I have been trying to see what route to take, where to make stops and so on and so on.
I have also recently moved again. I just couldn't take the old place anymore. Everyone couldn't understand why I would leave a place that was so big and so roomy and nice but they didn't have to live there and pay the scandalous bills and deal with the termites, spiders, and roof leaks. I did and I finally grew tired of it.
I will post here again but I wanted to let you know it will be as I update the site. In order to update the site I have to do research, find new info and then incorporate it into the site.
So, there will not be daily posts and sometimes I may even go a month without posting. This is the place to find out what is new but right now it's the same old same old!

I've just been busy with other things lately.
I haven't really done a lot of work on the website lately. I mean, it's up and running and I hope there aren't any bad links but I have been very busy working on my blog and other things.
Recently, I've been doing a lot of research on my Spangler side and have found lots of new and interesting facts. I can't wait to share them all with you.
So, I'm still here! I'm just busy with the other aspects of my research right now.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Well, the process continues!
I've been working a lot on the links for the new site. Everything is moved over and all my html files are uploaded but some of the links aren't working. I had them all hard-coded for the previous domain so they are still referencing that domain. Of course, nobody notices this because the old domain is still running.
It will take a while to get everything just the way it should but I will plug away at it!
I hope you are enjoying everything!

Well, of all days, I have chosen Mother's Day as the day to start offering my new beginnings. What was I thinking?
Don't worry, I still spent some time with my wife and my mother-in-law. I'm not quite sure where I stand with my mother right now so I am still not quite ready to approach that right now.
So, today I began the launch of my new site. There is still so much work to do! I have changed the main page and rewrote quite a few of the initial pages. The "About The Site" and "Navigation" pages had to be rewrote to reflect that this is now a family history page devoted to my complete research and not just my maternal research.
I'm sure you will run across a few broken links because I had quite a few "hard links" on my old site and that is something that I will need to try to correct. I simply ask that if you find any broken links please email me or post a comment on this blog. I'll try to get them all corrected quickly.
Thanks for putting up with me and have a wonderful week!

I've been working hard to try to get this all together and finally roll out my new site.
It's all starting to come together a lot better lately and I will soon unveil my site. There will be lots of new things for everyone. Of course, some things will never be completed as genealogy research is never done! However, I will have most of my stuff up for you to browse. I will also have links to my Message Board, the Family Lounge, my two blogs - Beyond Fiction and KBUB News - and I've just about got my wiki to working like I want it to!
All in all, things are going much better than I imagined! I'm very excited about the possibilities for the site.
Keep checking back for the launch of the new site!

I just thought I would drop by and let everyone know that I am still working on the site. Tonight I have been working on a new look for the start page and have been trying to get the links and all correct.
I am also working hard on trying to get my paternal genealogy ready to upload. In order to do this I have to actually get my Family Tree Maker database up to date and that will take a while. When I am done it will be a very good example of what I have to offer. I'm working the Spangler line now and will focus on the Gamble line later.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am still working on the site. I have been busy with other things also but I have not forgotten about the site.
I've been trying to get as much as possible from my Ancestry subscription because it expires in 1 week and I don't have the money to renew it right now.
I've also been playing around with starting a wiki on the site. It has a very interesting upside to it. It would be so nice if folks could add their information to the site and add pictures and other media. What do you think? Do you think that an interactive site would be nice?
Anyways, just letting you know that I am definitely still working on the site. There just isn't any visual evidence of that yet. When I launch some of the changes you will definitely notice it!
I'll holler back at you all later!

Today I've been working on a re-design for my start page. I want to try to have one unique navigation set for the entire site. I'm still not quite ready to preview it to everyone yet but it is getting closer.
In other news, I've renewed my domain name for another year and I am in the progress of renewing my hosting but have ran into a few snags. I'm sure I will get it all worked out eventually.
It's hard to believe that I have had this site for a year and have still not gotten around to getting it going yet.
Bear with me and I will get things right!

Well, I know I already have a blog and that I really don't post to it as often as I should but I decided I would try to do a little something different.
From here on out, this will be where you will find out what is happening on the website. If there are updates to be told about, if I have posted anything new, if there are birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, etc...
So, let me know what you think about it. After all, it's here to help you!
Have a great day,
Ken
