Stevenson Genealogy

I've just recently began digging into my Stevenson roots. Thanks to the luck of finding a new cousin, I have acquired quite a bit of info on this side now. Understand that I have not completely verified all of this information so you can take it for what it is worth. As I verify it, I will add source notes and photos and such, just like I have done to the Forbes section.

You will notice that the Stevenson name is spelled two different ways. I guess that each family, or sometimes each individual, decided how they wanted to spell it. It can cause confusion when you are doing your research. The other option is Stephenson. Some of the line still uses this spelling, so understand that even though they are spelled different, they are still the same family.

My Stevenson line originates in South Carolina (although the Seawright connection may be from Virginia!) and travels through Alabama, Georgia, and eventually right here in Texas. I was surprised to find that there was a part of the Stevenson line that was right here in Lamar Co., Texas! You never know where you are going to find your ancestors!
