Celebrating Two Years Today!
Mar 27th, 2009 by kenopoly
Well, for those who still read my blog, I just wanted to let you know that it has been two years since I started this blog. Who would have thought it?
I know I may not be the biggest blog around, in fact I’m probably one of the smallest but I am proud that I have stuck in there and persevered for two years now. It’s been a learning experience. I’ve made some good friends through the blogosphere. I look forward to many more years to come.
Here are some of the highlights of my first two years:
I have 250 posts as of today. That’s not a lot but it is an average of one every 3 days. I can live with that.
I’ve had 171 approved comments on my posts, so that is almost 1 per article. I’m just happy to have comments!
I’ve had a reader comment and leave information that helped me a lot in my Forbes research.
My most commented post was “She Taught Me More Than English“. Strangely, it had nothing to do with family!
My favorite post(s) would have to be the posts I did on my parents. They are also two of the most commented posts. You can find them here:
He Was A Good Man, And A Great Dad!
One of my more fun posts was Traits, Some Good & Some Bad where I was able to post some pictures of living relatives who resembled relatives that were 2 or 3 generations removed.
************************************************
There have been times when I am sure that there were some who thought I had abandoned my blog. In looking at my archives there are some 3 month spans where I only wrote 5 blogs during that span. There have been slow times but they are usually followed by a flurry! It’s just like researching, you have slow times and then you have times where the info flows so fast you can’t hardly keep up. I’m sure most of my fellow geneabloggers can relate to that.
I know my blog may not be the greatest blog out there but it has served its purpose. In my “About” section, I have stayed true to what I wrote two years ago. I hope to continue to do so in the future.
Speaking of the future, just what does my future hold? Well, I’m not going anywhere. I love blogging today just as much as I did when I first started it! As a matter of fact, I love it more than then!
I still plan on adding as much as possible to share my research with you all. I also plan on starting to participate in my two favorite blog carnivals again. Please forgive me for slacking off!
So, as always, feel free to comment and give any advice you would like to give! I’m always willing to listen and learn!
Have a great day! I’m going to be celebrating tonight!
Ken

Congratulations on your 2nd blogoversary, Ken! I’ve been a long time reader, and although I may not comment much, I do read every post in my Google Reader. Looking forward to more!
Take care (and congratulations on the grandbaby!),
Miriam
Congratulations on reaching your second year of blogging.
Oops I didn’t check my previous comment carefully. It should have read. “Congratulations on reaching the end of your second year of blogging.”
Congrats!!
