Finally, A Chance To Post!
Oct 31st, 2008 by kenopoly
Well, I’ve finally got a day off and I have a little time to post something today.
I have no great plans for a major post. I just wanted to take the time to write and let everyone know that things ought to be returning to normal soon. Here’s a little review of my last couple of months:
First off, I came back from vacation on August 25 and was so ready to post all my notes and let everyone know about how great things went. 2 months later I am still wondering when that will happen, perhaps this weekend!
I came back to my job and realized that with the hours they had put me on that I was not able to meet my bills and take care of my family as I needed to so I asked to go back to my old job. That happened on September 22 but I had to work several weekends of OT so that I could try to make some more money. After transferring back to my old job, I signed up for as much OT as possible so that I could catch up all of these bills (vacations are expensive!) and I got quite a bit! In the month of October I probably had about 3 or 4 days off and worked the rest of them, working 12 hour shifts! It’s been a long and busy couple of months but I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel and will hopefully be able to return to full time (or as often as possible) posting soon.
I appreciate all those who have written, commented and kept up with me during this time. I still plan on changing my blog to more of a family blog and not just genealogy. I had thought of doing 2 blogs but I have a hard enough time trying to keep up with one so I feel combining the ideas will be the most logical step.
I have a lot coming up in the next couple of weeks. Tonight I will buy my son’s airplane ticket to get him to Missouri where he will be married on November 15! I will also book my hotel room for that weekend also tonight. I’ll be able to spend some time with the newlyweds when they visit November 16-19 and plan to have an early Thanksgiving with them on November 18. It would be the first time I have had Thanksgiving with my son since November 2006!
I will share all that with you all later and will also share my thoughts about seeing your oldest child get married and my thoughts about becoming a grandpa soon! I feel so old right now!
So, here’s wishing you all a wonderful weekend, a very happy Halloween and the best of all things in the near future!
Keep hanging around. I will be back up and running soon.
Ken
