Ramblings …

Hi everyone!
I just need to drop in and ramble a while today. I’ve had lots of stuff happening lately and I wanted to fill everyone in on a few things.
First off, we have cancelled our move. We encountered a few unexpected snags and decided it wasn’t worth it to move right now. Of course, you always seem to pay the price no matter what. My landlord had no problem with us staying but decided he wanted to raise the rent by $50. Whatever! 
I’ve finally got most of my computer up and running again after my little virus scare. I hate having to reformat and then reinstall everything. I’m sure that I will still find more things that I have overlooked but for the most part I have got everything going for now. Also, fortunately, I haven’t lost anything as of yet. I am still moving some things around from my second hard drive but I believe that it was spared the virus and moving all my pictures and such has worked for me. Fortunately, I didn’t have to move .exe files, which would probably have been infected.
One thing I am doing now is reorganizing my genealogy folders. Since I am making a fresh start I figured why not just do some of the things I have been putting off? I do have a backup of most of my genealogy now and I am hoping to finish my pictures this weekend. I will also look into obtaining a backup service, such as Mozy, this weekend.
I also need to take the time to re-examine whether I will be able to contribute to the Carnival of Genealogy this time around as well as the I Smile For The Camera carnival. I really enjoy contributing but I seem to have so much on my plate at the moment. I’m sure I will be able to come up with something.
So, there you have it. Things are quite busy right now! I’m also trying to figure ways to cut some things in my budget because my promotion at work has turned into a demotion. It’s strange how you can take a promotion, get an almost $400 a month raise and then within 2 months it goes to making $100 a month less than you were in your old job. Unfortunately, I’m stuck in that job until at least October but I do know that I will eventually get away from it. You know what they say about the best laid plans …
