Yipes! It’s a terrible day today!

I woke up in a great mood and fixed breakfast for the wife and kids before they left for work and school. I then relaxed with a cup of coffee and watched a little of the news. It’s my day off so I figured I would take it easy.

Well, I finally decided to venture into my office area and do a little research on the computer. That’s when my day went from good to terrible. The first thing I noticed was a box sitting on top of my little cabinet that has all my software in it. The box was soaked! Fortunately for me, it only had empty CD cases in it. The solution was to get an old pot and throw under the leak. After a little more inspection I realized that there was another leak in the corner and I had to move the cabinet to get to it. When I moved the cabinet I noticed a little dust pile on the floor. Hmmm, I wonder where that came from? Upon inspection I realized that I had termites eating up my wall! Yipes again!

Well, fortunately for me my computer and research are on the other side of the room. However, I now find myself puzzling over how to solve this. I recently moved in to this house and I am only renting. I’ll have to see what the landlord will be willing to do but for right now my office area is definitely fixing to be packed up and moved into an interior area. I can’t afford to be fighting termites and water that are both trying to get to my hard fought for research!

So, it looks like I might be busy for a while. I’ll update you all later on my progress!
