A Shameful Confession!

Today, I find myself feeling very ashamed! I’m the one who does all the family research and makes sure I have all the proper documents and such. How could I end up in a situation as I found myself in yesterday?
Here’s the scoop. My oldest daughter just turned 16 last month. Last week she came to me and said she tried to turn in an application at a Sonic and they needed a copy of her birth certificate. This is where the shame comes in. She is 16 and my youngest will be 14 in June and I have NO copy of their birth certificates. I had to go yesterday and spend $46 for a certified copy of their birth certificates.
Am I the only one who has ever found themselves in this situation? Is it not shameful?
Needless to say I am going through my research papers for my immediate family and making sure I have things I should have for my loved ones.
Shame on me! or as Gomer Pyle would say “For shame, for shame, for shame”!
