Living The Dream, But I’m Not Asleep!

Well, shame on me!!! No posts in almost a month!
I could begin with a list of excuses but I’m sure that is not needed. We all know that we have times in our life when there are some things that are more important than genealogy, blogging or research! In those times, we make the smart choice and learn to put hobbies to the side! So, enough said on that!
So, what’s happening in my world? Well, life is extremely different lately without my son around. I’m the only guy in the house and have to put up with three women everyday! That’s not a bad thing but there isn’t much time for wrestling, football, or other “manly” things. I’m looking forward to next month when I get to go see my son graduate from Marine Corps. boot camp.
On the genealogy side, there have been some interesting things. I’ve met a few new cousins on MySpace of all places! I recently made contact with some cousins on my dad’s side that I didn’t even know were still alive. Interestingly enough, one of them is a Civil War buff and can tell you just about anything about the Civil War! He had with him a printout of a Confederate troop in Arkansas that contained my 2nd-great-grandfather William C. Gamble! Quite interesting. I look forward to starting a line of conversations with him. His older brother told me many interesting things about my family that I never knew! This was all at a birthday party for a cousin’s husband and most of the folks there were from his job, not family! It just goes to show that you never know where you may find genealogy links!
I regret that I will miss another issue of the Carnival of Genealogy! I had grown to look forward to being able to write posts for the Carnival. I can think of many things to write but as today is the deadline, I will wait and try to research a post better.
So, let’s hope that we can get back into the swing of blogging soon! I’m not gone, I’m just livin’ life! Sometimes we need to step back from all our researching of history and make a little history ourselves!
Take care everyone!

Yeah,
Stop being such a slacker lol. Make it up by posting TWO articles for the next Carnival!!
