Down Time!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I will be very busy the next few days so I won’t have time to check in with the blogs and such.
I have to finish cleaning out my mother-in-law’s apartment, finish rearranging the house and I have to spend some time with my son before he leaves for the Marines on Sunday! I probably will be away at least until Monday but most likely Tuesday!

Semper Fi, Marine Family! Our son is also a Devil Dog, an MP Reserves sgt. The day he left for MCRD San Diego was one of the toughest of my life…but the day he left for his first tour of Iraq in 2003 was THE toughest. He survived both visits to the Sandbox, however, and is just months away from the end of his contract.
They say Marines are born, not made, and I believe that to be true. The men and women who wear the Eagle Globe and Anchor are truly extraordinary, and their families are rightfully proud. Just wait until you see your son in his Blues…you will be moved to weep at the sight!
On the genealogy side, I am also an addict. A Barrows descendent, I have become a Barrows “collector,” and my collection - with just a FEW other surnames as well
- has now surpassed 33,000 individuals. I, too, am working at housecleaning my database, though I always seem to get sidetracked into adding to it as I go
