OK, this is the 5th of the 6 obituaries I was able to get the week of 5-7-07.
Mrs. J. N. (Sally) Childres of Rt. 1, Clarksville, died Thursday in Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
Funeral services were to be held today at 2 p.m. at the Lone Star United Methodist Church, with interment following in Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Jolley’s Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Wilkie was to officiate.
Mrs. Childres was born Sept. 21, 1899 in Clarksville, a daughter of James and Nancy Presley. She married J. N. Childres in 1924 in Clarksville; he preceded her in death in 1956.
Survivors include three sons, Carl Childres of Clarksville, Monroe T. Smith of Casper, Wyo. and Jim Childres of Phoenix; two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Peters of Wichita Falls and Mrs. James N. (Inez) Johnson of Clarksville; one sister, Mrs. Mable Matthews of Oklahoma City; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
