For those who have grown used to my original site, The Forbes-Stevenson Genealogy Home Page, you should feel quite at home and you will be glad to know that I have decided to transport that site here. It will be completely the same as before, just a different way of launching it! For all those who are new here, welcome! This is what will soon be the culmination of my work and research. It has long been my dream to someday offer a site that would feature my complete genealogy research for both sides of my family. I have also desired to be able to feature my wife and children and their lives on my site. Now I can!
The menu on the left will be the main source of navigating from the home page. I will be sure to include a link back here on each page so you can always have a way to get back to a familiar surrounding. Please contact me if you have any suggestions for the navigation of the site.
There are a lot of features to this site but the main feature will be my genealogy. I have researched my maternal line since the summer of 2000. My paternal lines are still in progress, although I have quite a bit of info because I have garnered quite a bit from my cousin's site.
I would like to point out that there are other areas to the site besides genealogy. I will have a few other things that may interest folks. If you would allow me to, I will focus on a few of those things now.
You can keep up with what's happening in my genealogy research and with any updates on this site by reading my blogs. You can access them by utilizing the links in the left-hand column. I will update them often with as much info as I am able to find. This will be where you can go to keep up with what is new on the site as well as what is new with my research!
You can keep in touch with the rest of the family and post current events, notices and such like on the Message Board. It requires a one-time registration to be able to post but this way I can keep others from just posting spam notices and such. It can be a very effective way of communication for all who are not able to travel much or who may be hindered by the fact that they are separated by a few thousand miles!
Need an address or phone number fast? No problem! Just sign into the lounge and you will be able to find all the info I have on any of the family, including phone numbers, email, addresses, birthdates, and anniversaries! To keep from having any complications, I will have a separate lounge for each side of the family (maternal and paternal) so that there will be no fears of someone seeing something they shouldn't!
I have lots of other plans but each one takes a little time to get started and I would rather get one plan established before starting another. Of course, if you have any suggestions you can feel free to contact me and pass them on!
